The Energy Brokers nominated for 3 TELCA 2017 awards

We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for no less than 3 industry awards at The Energy Live Consultancy Awards 2017: Most Trusted Consultancy; Super Consultancy of the Year; and Energy Buying Team.

TELCA has helped provide a benchmark for excellence and this is the fifth edition of these prestigious awards honoring the best consultants and brokers in the land. The awards ceremony takes place on Wednesday 28th June in London.

Most Trusted Consultancy

The Most Trusted category is an accolade for any broker or consultant who can demonstrate its integrity when it comes to its customers, business dealings and reputation. The Energy Brokers is consistently named in the Top 5 trusted brokers in the Cornwall Report. We have spent 20 years in energy procurement building a reputation for openness, honesty and transparency. Our open book policy means we operate on a transparent basis with both clients and suppliers, there are no hidden costs and our advice is therefore completely impartial.

Super Consultancy of the Year

The Super Consultancy category is the accolade for the best brokers, who have been independently recognised as the industry’s leading players. At The Energy Brokers we are committed to quality customer service and aim to build lasting working partnerships with our clients to achieve their specific requirements and are proud of our high level of customer retention rates. We do not believe that “one size fits all” and are happy to tailor solutions to clients’ needs. We operate with all suppliers in the market and our in-depth knowledge, established presence and longstanding relationships allow us to ensure best prices can be achieved.

Energy Buying Team

We pride ourselves on being 100% focused on consistently exceeding customer expectations. Everything we do in understanding customer needs, market engagement, negotiation, energy procurement, demand management, risk management and ongoing contract delivery is focused on delivering best value.

We’re honored to have been recognised by these nominations and we wish good luck to everyone nominated in all the TELCA categories. Look forward to seeing you all at the ceremony on 28th June!

Have you thought about ESOS compliance yet?

ESOS is unavoidable: with the scheme written into UK law since 2014, we’re already in the second compliance phase. Fewer than 60% of the 10,000 businesses qualifying for the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme were compliant by the extended deadline last year. On the qualification date of 31st December 2018, companies with more than 250 employees or an annual turnover of €50million and a balance sheet of €43million will need to comply.

We can help you become ESOS compliant Phase 1 into Phase 2 with a comprehensive ESOS audit schedule, giving you benefits far beyond compliance alone: we can help you identify improvements to help you become more competitive, to boost productivity, increase staff energy awareness and minimise risk from future energy costs – whilst demonstrating corporate social responsibility internally and externally. Our experts have already enabled 79 client organisations to become 100% compliant.

The deadline for Phase 2 is December 2019 but you need to plan now: booking a site audit early can deliver a real cost benefit as demand for auditors will only increase as the deadline looms. The specialist teams at The Energy Brokers and pemxq can deliver a complete ESOS service.

If you need to get started or would like a conversation about any aspect of energy compliance or energy efficiency opportunities, simply get in touch with your account contact, or visit our Comply page. Alternatively you can email or call +44 (0)330 221 1000.

water.Retail asks what makes us different

water.Retail magazine recently asked four key individuals at Consultus International, parent group of The Energy Brokers and The Waterbuyers, what makes our services stand out from the competition.

Adam Madeley, Head of Water Operations

We offer genuine market insight and experience. The Waterbuyers team is led by Ed Gray – former director of energy for Hilton Worldwide and head of energy and carbon for Marks & Spencer – and, myself, who spent the past four years with Severn Trent and then Water Plus, England’s biggest water retailer, preparing for the opening of the competitive water market. This is in-depth knowledge of water deregulation, English pricing and value-add opportunity, coupled with client-side expectation, allows us to be truly consultative in what we do.

Jonathan Akers, Director

We formed The Waterbuyers to enable a dedicated focus on the water market and its deregulation, and we recruited industry experts to add value for our clients. Our integrated software that manages water accounts is the same core platform as other utilities. The combination of our systems and procurement expertise ensures our clients can benefit from market-leadiing experts and the one-stop shop vision of all their utility data via our consultants and web-portal into our systems.

David Peake, Director

Our USP is without doubt our ethics. We have pioneered transparency in the TPI marketplace and always put the customer first.  We provide “best advice to clients” – and in some case that means “don’t switch yet” – and work on an open book, trust partner basis.

Luke Booth, Senior Consultant

A one-size-fits-all approach is not adequate in this market and The Waterbuyers is uniquely building long-term strategies with clients to review the market on a regular and ongoing basis.  This approach means clients are kept informed of market developments and our regular communication means clients will benefit from market evolution.
